We’ve loved driving through Iowa. We stopped overnight in Iowa City – home of the University of Iowa – and got to take in some of the sites. It’s definitely a college town, which in this case amounted to good food and shopping. Photos from the last couple of days…

Walking a few blocks across campus we found boutiques, a great record store called the Record Collector, Prairie Light Bookstore, and shady spots to stop for a drink.
Off to Nebraska. On the way across the state, we stopped in to see the famed Bridges of Madison County. The maps weren’t the best, and we managed to get lost on the dirt back roads of Iowa. We did find a Bridge of Madison County.

We crossed over the Missouri River at the Nebraska state line and later found out that’s where Lewis and Clark started their expedition west.
Just a few minutes across the river we stopped for the night at a farmhouse BnB in a little suburb just northwest of Omaha. I love this little spot. The Oft’s own this home that’s been in their family for generations. Those photos and Nebraska later…
